India VS Pakistan

India Vs Pakistan was badly affected due to heavy rainfall. The 3rd match of Super Four was held at R. Premdasa Stadium Colombo yesterday, September 11, 2023. India did not choose Rahul to play against Pakistan because of his back problem after his injury. By an unannounced player, Iyer was replaced on Sunday. He returned to the team on Monday and scored a hundred runs.

Virat Kohli once again, added one more century to his scorecard. India set a huge target of 356 runs for two wickets only. After recovering from injury, Bumrah who was playing first time in ODI didn’t allow Pakistani players to win by his swing. Siraj also put Pakistan in trouble showing accuracy.

Occasionally, Bumrah caught Imam, and Pandya also attacked Babar Azam’s shots. The rain caused a delay in a match where the Pakistani team got some rest. Kuldeep made the conditions more complicated after the rain break. He took 5 wickets for 25 runs just in eight overs. Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf could not even come out to bat. It was the biggest win ever by 228 runs of India.

After the delay, India scored 147 runs for 2 wickets. They scored 209 runs in a very short time and just 25.5 overs. The partnership of Rahul and Kohli gave their team this gift of rapid runs. For the Fourth time in the ODI, India scored more than a half-century. The Absence of Haris Rauf was also a big factor that they couldn’t stop Kohli and Rahul from scoring more.

In the 49th over Naseem Shah got an injury on his bowling arm and went out of the ground. Surprisingly, this was the first chance when Naseem Shah was unable to take any wickets.

India-Partnership.

Pakistan was capable to end Kohli’s performance in 60 runs but due to mistake of Naseem shah the catch missed. In the last 8 overs Kohli and Rahul played really well and scored 92 runs. In the end, Kohli hit a four twice and a six. He played calmly in the start and hit 54 runs to boundary which helped him to make a total 122.

Rahul made his day great by hitting the boundaries many times. Shaheen Afridi was hit badly by Rahul even Shadab couldn’t hold the ball. Iftikhar was playing in place of Haris Rauf. Rahul hit and hurt him badly . Contrarily, Kohli was unable to score when he faced Iftikhar.

Shaheen-got-wicket

Rahul hit the pitch many times and put Pakistan’s spinners in trouble. He followed Kohli’s action and hit Shadab over midwicket. After scoring a century he seemed very peaceful and looked upward and was seen taking a sigh of faith. Kohli was utterly pleased to make a record of scoring quick 13,000 ODI runs.

Moreover, Rahul started playing after 7th over observing the condition of the match. Rahul dropped a catch in the evening from Kuldeep but overall his performance was good. After bowling for just five overs, Bumrah spent some time out of the field for unknown reasons.

On the other hand, Pakistan required almost eight runs per over when Baber was batting. Hardik made it difficult for Baber to score more. From 50 balls Fakhar was only able to make 27 runs while he got out by Kuldeep. No player from Pakistan could score more than 25. In the meantime, Kuldeep got a chance in this ODI to achieve five wickets for the first time.
