Throughout the tournament, the Indian team did not face defeat until now. They achieved another win and opened the door for holding the Trophy of the ICC World Cup 2023. On the other hand, the most heartfelt moment for New Zealand was to get out of the Final race. Further, it was the second time that India won the toss and they took a good decision.

Rohit Sharma gave a very blazing start to the inning with 47 runs in 29 deliveries and it was the ninth time he was out on the 40s in this year. A mindboggling performance for Virat Kohli that he went to his 50th century. He broke the record of the man who made 49th the highest centuries in the past Sachin Tendulkar in front of him. He made his memorable century in the presence of his wife and his home ground. This was another special moment for the entire team. Moreover, Shreyas Iyer scorched his second century off 67 balls.

Mohammad Shami showed his death bowling skills. In addition, in this tournament, the ground was shown in bowling favor. From afternoon to evening, the bowlers took more advantage in bowling. Mohammad Shami smashed seven wickets which proved the end for New Zealand. An unbeaten 80 runs by Shubman Gill but not completing his century was bad luck.

Daryl Mitchell’s outstanding innings of 134 runs off 119 had a break by Mohammad Shami. They came close to the target but unluckily after the wicket of Daryl Mitchell, they could not finish well. This pitch was less favorable for the fast bowlers under lights and in the afternoon, it would be more favorable for slower balls.

But Rohit with his smashing performance negated this advantage of a slower pitch with his fastest score. Moreover, he remained on the top with the highest average and strike rate in this World Cup. Additionally, he hit most of the sixes and fours in power playovers. KL Rahul gave a better finish of 39 runs off 20 balls. In the last 10 overs, the Indian batsman scored 110 runs and led the score to 397 runs.

Kane Williamson also contributed to the 327 runs by scoring 69 runs at 73 balls. The first two wickets built pressure on the opposite team that they did not score better. After that, Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell created a partnership and never led the team to win. Mohammad Shami with his outstanding performance took the first five wickets of the higher order batsmen. As said, he held a break on the run-scoring strategy and took the team to the Final.

Glenn Phillips also added 41 runs. If he showed his last two matches, maybe the result would be different. Tim Southee fell for three wickets to Rohit and Virat. But he led them to score the highest runs such as 100 in 10 overs.

Mohammad Shami became the fastest 50 wickets in World Cups. He is also a well-experienced bowler and this type of talent was needed by the team. In other words, he showed his remarkable return to form. In the special event, an unforgettable 50th century by Virat and the best bowling figure 7/57 by Mohammad Shami.
