Pakistan and the Sri Lankan team played the 8th match of World Cup 2023 against each other at Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium, India on Oct 10, 2023.

After winning the toss, the Sri Lanka team elected to bat first. Sri Lanka set Pakistan a huge target of 344 runs in the first innings. But Pakistan’s hard-hitting players managed to Complete the target with 10 balls to spare. It was the first time in the history of the World Cup that a team achieved such a big target.

Abdullah Shafique and Muhammad Rizwan’s centuries have given Pakistan this win. Abdullah Safique became the first Pakistani batsman to score a century in his first debut. He scored 113 runs off 103 balls. Muhammad Rizwan scored an unbeatable 131 runs on the loss of 121 balls and became the player of the match.
